Oleoresin
An oleoresin is a resinlike substance left when spices are extracted with a hydrocarbon solvent.
Oleoresins are viscous materials 5–20 times more potent in flavour than the original spice but weaker than the essential oils that can be obtained from the same spice. Oleoresins are semi-solid extracts created by evaporating the solvents used in their production.
